  ARE JW SISTERS ALLOWED TO CARRY COFFINS?

  recently i was amazed to read in another thread that jw females are not even allowed to walk up and down the aisles counting those in attendance.

  the poster said jw women literally "don't count" - a brilliant play on words.

  i guess i had never thought about it before, but it got me wondering about all the behind-the-scene work jw females do, but their invisibility in the public arena.

  I recall about 30 years ago going to a Jdub funeral at the kingdum hall and they had an open coffin. Maybe the policy have changed over the years. I know Jdub feel their message to convert non believers is more important. The deceased individual and family is secondary.

  they claim that the jw's... as of the new organization book ...no longer announce someone is disfellowshipped or disassociated.. .

  but rather they announce " they are no longer a jehovah's witness.

  anyone that can shed light on if this is true or not?

  I think the key to the whole issue of how a dub will treat a DF or DA is in the sentence, "If a person who is a Christian chooses to join those who are disapproved by God, "

  What a typical arrogant Jdub comment to make. Again the "we are right everyone else wrong" applies here and excluding all the mistakes the Borg has made over the last 100+ years. I have had calls from a Jdub the last few days as there number comes up on my call display. Makes me wonder now what their true motives may be.

  Pyramid Schemes - Melaleuca - MLM

  ok... this topic will probably get some people quite upset - but i am going to say it anyways.

  the topic of 'con artist types' in the borg reminded me of this issue.. where i come from in western canada and usa, there is a huge issue of dubs getting involved in melaleuca.

  there is one brother in the interior of british columbia that is making much more money in a month than most people make in a year.

  The bottom line to make money in MLM it is nothing to do with hard work but timing. In Amway most of the Direct Diamonds have been in the business at ground level. No matter what you say it is a pyramid scam. You are making money off the hard work of others. If it was all to do with making money off of selling products that would be fine but it isn't. The selling the products are secondary. I know as being involved you were to try to convert or show others the business plan. I tried but everyone had heard of Amway and they were not interested.

  To me it was no different in being a JW. You were pushing something that no one was interested in. I have a few relatives involved in MLM. Most of them wouldn't give you the time of day but will only talk to you because they see a potential recruit. Like a used car salesman or realtor, they are only being freindly with you to make money.

  Also I have seen those snake salesmen on TV and they are doing the same thing, selling an idea so they make money. I say if their money making schemes are so good why don't work them themselves?

  I have to disagree with the statement that MLM companies are another business and it only takes hard work to make it successful.

  I was involved with one MLM 25 years ago. What they tell you and what is reality two different things. Before I got involved they said it would only take about 5 hours a week to make the business successful, after which they wanted me to spend a few hours a night at business meetings.

  First because of everyone up line taking a cut in the profits, the products are over priced. Why should I but something that I can get in a store for a fraction of the price.

  I have read statistics since that says less than 1% of all distributors eventually make enough money to live on. I think that you would have a better chance at winning the lottery than make it successful in MLM. I copied the following link that shows how

  Out of 35,000 Distributors, 41% or 14,350 will be Active, out of the Active ones, 2% or 287 will become Direct Distributors and only 5 or 1.7% of those Direct Distributors will become Diamond Distributors. Five out of 35,000 make enough money to live on!!! I would rather take my chances with the Lottery.

  Another thing they don't tell you is when you get up to the Diamond Direct Level you make a percentage on all the motivational tapes, books etc. that are sold at the business seminars. They also get big money to speak at the big rallies. I read somewhere they could make somewhere between $10,000 to $20,000, for just one weekend.

  Lets not call it free enterprise but call it was it is a pyramid scam.

  They sure don't listen to the counsel at the meetings. I seem to recall some years ago there was an article in one of their rags about not getting involved with MLM schemes. Also I agree with your analyze on a persons motives when they get involved in that crap. When they come over all friendly and say hello you always have to question their motives. I don't agree on how much they make. I know so many of them will brag about how much money their making but in reality something like .01% actually only make enough money to live on. He maybe tells you about what he makes before he has to pay out all his overhead and down line people. He probably doesn't make as much as he says he does.

  it is fully functional and, according to the guy who sold it, from the 1940?s.

  it looks like it has all of its original parts too!

  Looks like a beauty. I don't know how much yours is but I have a 1936 Dictator, fully functioning. I like the sound from it. You do not get the same quality sound from the modern radios. I think you got a good deal to get it under a $ 100 and fully functioning. Enjoy

  WTS Bills US JWs $8.4 million for Traveling Overseers

  being announced at service meetings this week at all us congregations:.

  a letter read during the announcements states that due to increased costs of health insurance and vehicles provided for traveling overseers (circuit and district overseers) the watchtower bible and tract society has determined the need to ask for a specific "contribution" for the "traveling overseer assistance arrangement".. .

  until this date expenses of this sort were paid from the worldwide work or general fund of contributions.. .
